Awkward Laughter and Uncomfortable Glares
Last night, the great Stephen Colbert spoke at the annual D.C. bacchanalia known as the White House Correspondents Dinner. The full video is up at Crooks & Liars, but here's a small portion of his incredibly witty and uncharacteristically brutal speech. Be sure to notice the glare of President Bush.
And if you're a conservative and you find this humor to be disrespectful, just remember what President Bush found humorous at the same dinner several years ago.
I love the press having to stew in their own juice. I think he delicately gave Moran and Gregory props. Completely uncomfortable silence. The glacier remark killed at my house at least.
I’d say they were fully marinated, with a side of media au jus for dipping.
There were so many hilarious comments during the speech, but one of my favorites was the mesquite-powered car.
I loved the “everyone knows reality has a liberal bias” line.
“You must repeat the truth over and over, You must catapult the propaganda.” Bush jr. Ok How many times is the media gunna say Colbert bombed before I believe it? Cobert rocks Bravo!!!
